On back: Afognak Island Covered Bridge-Alaska. Timber truss 122 ft., built 1929, spanned Afognak River near it’s mouth. Maintained by the U.S. Navy on road that led to recreation camp. Legend is that it was destroyed 1964 by earthquake & resulting tidal wave. Photo by Stanley D. Banks.
