Back Information: hanging Bridge in the Royal Gorge - the Grand Canon of the Arkansas is nearly ten miles in length, extending from near Canon City to Parkdale. About midway is the Royal Gorge, the deepest and narrowest part of the Canon, where the walls rise to a height of 2,500 feet and the river channel is so restricted that this railroad is carried over the stream by a bridge suspended from the rocks above.
