Throughout the book Sevareid's recounts both the events of the war, his involvement in early radio reporting during the war, and how journalistic strategies changed over the course of the war. Sevareid also shares information about his youth in North Dakota.

This copy has its original dust jacket, although it has a number of tears The pages inside are clean and in great condition with no tears or foxing. The front hinge is damaged and some of the gauze is visible, but it is still securely attached and no pages are loose. This is a lovely copy of an enthralling book.
