Little Boy on Donkey with Santa- It seems the idea of a photo Christmas Card of Children with Santa began with the USPS in about 1910 to 1913. A Santa stood with the children sitting on the donkey in from of a painted background. The number on the basket was to identify the family ordering the card. It was most likely only the families of means could afford this RPPC to mail.
