We have two of the original Spalding softballs, one with a hidden stitch and another that is hand stitched. Both show signs of wear from many years of useroduced mainly from 1920-1930, these softballs were often used for indoor or playground use.
The hand stitched ball measures around 10" in circumference, while the hidden seam ball measures closer to 12" circumference.
The hidden seam ball has a makers mark of "Spalding Official Dual Seal". This means that it was likely made out of scrap leather or a mix of leather and faux leather.
There is no makers marks stamped on the hand stitched ball but has the quality to appear to be original pigskin.
