What a content looking baby, all dressed up in her Battenberg Lace dress. Obviously, the child of a Kalamazoo parents, who could afford to have a beautiful photograph made of their child. This photo features a baby in a white lace gown and leather booties. The photograph was taken by F.P. Ford in Kalamazoo, Michigan between 1866 and 1911 when the studio was open. The baby's apparel looks 1880 to 1890, a time of prosperity and rapid growth for the city of Kalamazoo.
