Wade Florida Panther, Red Rose Collectible - Endangered Animals Series

This, Red Rose Tea, Florida Panther, was collected as a premiums from Rose Tea. It is light brown with darker brown in the creases. It was promoted as one of the endangered animal series. In fact, there is currently an issue with one of these Panthers wondering onto farm land and killing young calves. Despite it's protected species designation, Florida wildlife management plans to dispose of it, to protect the livestock.

Red Rose Tea Company of Canada, worked out a contract in 1967 with Wade ceramics of England, to produce several series of miniature ceramic creatures. Red Rose Tea contracted them to make special collectible premiums, in the shape of miniature animals, to act as prizes in boxes of their tea. The series included 15 animals which were in high demand as collectibles in the United States. They were regularly traded to get all 15 in the set.
